Properties: Pale yellowish color.

Major Constituents: Caryophyllene, camphene, sabinene, b-pinene, myrcene, a-terpinene, etc.

Where does Canaga Oil Come from?

Cananga (Cananga odorata var. macrophylla) is a a tall, tropical tree which produces flowers almost identical to those of ylang ylang. Canaga oil is extracted from yellow flowers of Cananga Odorata through steam distillation method.

Differences Between Ylang Ylang and Cananga?

There are many similarities in oil extracted from canaga with Ylang ylang essential oil. Both plants are members of the Annonaceae plant family and belong to the same genus – Cananga.

Being from the same plant family both have similar kind of medicinal characteristics, appearance and odor. It is the ranking system in family tree that separate out the minor differences between the essential oils extracted from both Ylang Ylang and Canaga.
